Obituary: Charles Russell Emmons, Jr. 86, of Bethel
Charles served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

BETHEL, CT — Charles Russell Emmons, Jr. age 86, of Bethel, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Lillian (Sedor) Emmons.He was born in Norwalk, April 3, 1932, son of the late Charles R. Emmons, Sr. and Lucille (Hall) Emmons.
He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked as a barber for the State of Connecticut until retiring in 1989. He was a member of VFW Post 935, the First Congregational Church of Bethel, and Connecticut State Employees Association Union.

In addition to his wife of 61 years Charles is survived by his son: Charles Emmons, III and his wife Lorrie of Brookfield; daughter: Tammie Emmons of Norwalk; granddaughters: Catherine and her husband Matthew Schmitz of Waukee, Iowa, Julianne and her husband Austin Kinross of Redmond, Washington; his great grandson: Kooper Charles Schmitz as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother: Robert Emmons, as well as Poppy, and Amanda.
The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a 6:00 p.m. service at the Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Sheldon Smith.
