Obituary: Louis A. Didato, of Bethel, 88, Of Bethel
Louis was a hardworking man, working from dusk till dawn, providing for his large family.

BETHEL, CT — Louis A. Didato, of Bethel, passed away on June 5, 2022 at the age of 88.
Louis and his twin brother were born in Norwalk to Sebastian (Mike) and Ruth (Mount) Didato on January 8, 1934. He attended Norwalk schools and started working at his family’s restaurant, the Ludlow Luncheonette, at a young age. Louie had fond memories of working at Overton’s Seafood stand in East Norwalk as a teenager. It is still in operation today. He often told the story of how customers would ask for him specifically to cook their shrimp.

Later, Louie was employed by Pepperidge Farm in Norwalk where he received the Margaret Rudkin Award for Excellence, which recognizes outstanding performance, initiative, and dedication. He retired from Pepperidge Farm in 1994 after 36 years of loyal service. Louie was the ultimate do-it-yourselfer, constantly constructing and repairing things. He was a hardworking man, working from dusk till dawn, providing for his large family. In past years Louie enjoyed sketching and painting. His framed pictures are treasured items in his home. Louie also loved his Lotto scratch off tickets and would say he hoped to win the big one someday.
Louie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Geraldine (Russell) Didato, a son, Louis Jr., daughters Jane Costanzo (Frank), Patricia Paulella (Jim), Ann Fakkas (Mark), and Stacey Didato, 9 grandchildren Michael Costanzo, Christopher Costanzo, Robert Didato, Nicholas Didato, Matthew Struski, James Paulella, Jessica Thomas, Shannon Sizemore, and Daniel Fakkas, and 7 great-grandchildren, Bennett, Dylan, Alexandra, Nicholas, Kora, Gideon, and Mackenzie. He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan, sister Dorothy Faust, brothers Sebastian (Paul) Didato, Ralph Didato and twin brother Harold Didato.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday, June 25 at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave, Bethel from 10:30 to 11:30, with a service beginning at 11:30. Interment will be at a later date.
Louie will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
