Obituary: Martha Antoinette (Vetrano) Greco, 91, Of Bethel

BETHEL, CT — Martha Antoinette (Vetrano) Greco, age 91, of Bethel, died Monday, June 27, 2022 at St. John Paul II Center, Danbury. She was the widow of Hugo F. Greco. She was born on Jan. 24, 1931 in the Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Onofrio Vetrano and Marta A. (Conte) Vetrano.

Martha worked for the Bell phone company in NYC until she married Hugo and started a family. She was a stay at home mom and also worked part-time from the 1970s thru 2010 in various knitting stores in Bethel, Redding, Danbury, Ridgefield and Brookfield. She was a professional knitter.

Martha is survived by two sons, Enrico Greco and his wife Maureen of Danbury; Michael H. Greco and his wife Rosanne of Bethel; two daughters, Maria A. Shanley and her husband Paul Sr. of Bethel; Nola Daubert and her husband, Patrick of Bethel.

Martha is survived by nine grandchildren, Paul Shanley Jr (Courtney), Steven Shanley (Lauren), Marisa Shanley (Nick Santos), Micaela Shanley, Gina Greco, Eryn Daubert, Nicholas Greco, Sean Daubert and Joseph Magri (Gina), four great-grandchildren; Jackson and Ryan Magri and Isabelle and Alaina Shanley; as well as, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brother, Carmine Vetrano and sister, Rosemarie (Vetrano) Ciolfi and grandson, Michael J. Shanley.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, Thursday evening, June 30, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Bethel, Friday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
