Obituary: Michael Paul Kopec, 25, of Bethel

Michael loved to make people laugh and recently started participating in comedy shows performing his own stand-up comedy.

BETHEL, CT — Michael Paul Kopec, formerly of Bethel CT, passed away on September 5, 2018 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Michael was born on July 20, 1993 in Mt. Pleasant, NY to Aneta (Pyzio) and Miroslav Kopec.

Michael was full of life and love, he was always willing to give a helping hand and adored his little sister, Anna. Michael loved to make people laugh and recently started participating in comedy shows performing his own stand-up comedy at local clubs in Florida. He enjoyed snowboarding, skateboarding and BMX. Michael was surrounded by large group of friends who became his extended family after he put down his roots in Florida.

He worked at Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. as an IT Specialist and studied Cyber Security at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale. He was also actively pursuing network and system administration certificates.

Michael is survived by his beloved parents, Aneta and Miroslav Kopec, and his sister Anna Kopec. As well as his maternal grandparents Eliza and Alfred Pyzio and paternal grandparents Krystyna and Gwidon Kopec.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 12, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church (26 Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel CT) from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday September 13, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church in Bethel at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bethel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael’s name to the Newtown Parent Connection, newtownparentconnection.org
