Obituary: Rosetta E. Lowder, 90, of Bethel

BETHEL, CT — Rosetta E. Lowder, age 90, of Bethel, formerly a long-time resident of Yonkers, NY passed away on August 16, 2018. Rosetta was born on October 3, 1927 in New York, NY and grew up in Manhattan.

Rosetta married the love of her life, John F. Lowder Jr. in 1953. The couple first met as pen pals while John was stationed in the Navy during WWII. The couple was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Geraldine and Joanne.

Rosetta spent 48 years in Yonkers before relocating to Bethel 5 years ago to be closer to her family.

Rosetta was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become "Mama” to her 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Rosetta loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.

Rosetta was the beloved wife of John F. Lowder Jr., devoted mother of the late Geraldine Hogan and her husband Dennis, Joanne LaBadia and her husband Jerry, loving “Mama” to Jerry LaBadia, his wife Amanda, and their two sons Jerry and Dylan, Janine Raymond and her husband Dan, Joe LaBadia, his wife Jill, and their daughters Isabelle and the late Emmalee Quinn, and Michael Hogan.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 19th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury, CT. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 20th at 10 am at St. Mary Parish, 24 Dodgingtown Road, Bethel, CT. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Hospital or Vitas Hospice, CT.
