Pet of the Week - Wally

We are overjoyed to introduce you to Wally...the first dog in our Senior Paw Project!

We are overjoyed to introduce you to Wally...the first dog in our Senior Paw Project! DAWS and The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary partnered together to establish the Senior Paw Project, made possible by a grant from the ASPCA. The Senior Paw Project is part of the ASPCA® Adoption Ambassadors program. Together, we're creating a network of foster ambassadors to help get senior dogs and cats out of the shelters and into loving homes. And here is Wally's Bio! Hi everyone! My name is Wally and I’m a 7 year-old Shepherd mix. I’m a super-sweet distinguished southern gentleman who’s made the long journey all the way from Kentucky to find my forever home! I was picked up as a stray, and can't believe how lucky I am to be living in a foster home with my wonderful ambassador! She wants you to know I am an absolute prince in her home! I walk nicely on the leash, am housebroken, and I love human company and affection. I am friendly with other dogs, although I do prefer a more mellow walking buddy, rather than a rough-and-tumble playmate. My ambassador has been taking me everywhere with her, and I love making so many new friends. I hope my next stop is to my forever home with you! If interested in meeting me, please email kristen.backus@daws.org or dogs@daws.org. Wally is available for adoption at the Danbury Animal Welfare Organization, located at 147 Grassy Plain Street in Bethel, CT.

Even if you are unable to adopt Wally, you can still help him find his forever home by sharing him on your own social media pages, and letting others know about this wonderful senior dog! Thank you! For more information about DAWS, visit us at http://www.daws.org or like us on Facebook at http://Facebook.com/DAWSpets. Please note a slight change in our Dog Program Adoption Hours. The Dog Program will be closed on Monday and Tuesday nights. We are open Wednesday - Friday from 6PM - 8PM, and from 2PM - 4PM on Saturday and Sunday. We apologize for any inconvenience this change in the schedule may cause.
