Winners chosen out of 9,994 agencies considered for their patient experience, financial performance, etc.

DANBURY – Rep. David Scribner (R-107), member of the Public Health Committee, applauds the Western Connecticut Home Care for being named a Top-Performing Home Health Agency of the 2014 HomeCare Elite in the United States. Out of 9,994 agencies considered, 2,501 were determined as elite based on quality outcomes, best practice (process measure) implementation, patient experience (Home Health CAHPS), quality improvement and consistency, and financial performance.

“Emerging forms of healthcare and advancing medical practices have created a pressing need for improvement in homecare,” said Rep. Scribner, a member of the Board of Directors for the Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut. “After years of advocacy, I am thrilled we were able to enhance palliative care for patients and their families who deserve greater comfort and support during a difficult time. This recognition is a great honor for the Western Connecticut Home Care, and is very well-deserved.”
