Rep. Harding Votes for Entrepreneur Learner's Permit Program
State Rep. Harding represents the 107th district of Brookfield, Bethel and Danbury. The program assists first-time entrepreneurs.

From the Office of State Representative Stephen Harding:
State Rep. Stephen Harding (R-107), member of the Legislature’s Energy and Technology Committee, Tuesday co-sponsored and voted in support of an initiative that will encourage and assist first-time entrepreneurs in certain business sectors – namely, information technology, biotechnology, and green technology – by reimbursing them for state fees associated with forming a business.
“Anything we can do to support our businesses and technological innovation is a measure I will support,” said Rep. Harding. “Connecticut has a long history of success in specialty manufacturing and ingenuity, and I hope we can continue to inspire the originality that keeps our professionals competitive in our already demanding and costly market.”

Senate Bill 303 will establish an Entrepreneur Learner’s Permit pilot program (administered by Connecticut Innovations, Inc. (CI)) that provides permits to new entrepreneurs that, for two years from the issuance of such permit, waive any state or municipal filing, licensing or permitting fees associated with starting a new business. If the bill becomes law, entrepreneurs interested in participating in the program can contact CI at 860-563-5851 or info@ctinnovations.com for more information.
It was passed unanimously in both the House and Senate, and now awaits the governor’s anticipated signature that will make it law.
