The Aldrich Contemporary Art museum is located on Main St. in Ridgefield.  Open Tues (a free admission day) - Sun., noon until 5p. and $4 for seniors on other days.  Right now they have an interesting exhibit of pen drawings & more.
Take a step back in time and visit The Lockwood-Mathews museum on West Ave. in Norwalk.  Tours are offered Wed-Sun, 1p, 2p & 3p.  Seniors get in for $8.
If you're feeling the itch to visit NYC, Goldstar.com is a wonderful site for discounts on shows, concerts, exhibits & all things fun.  Events aren't usually posted too far in advance but if you have a flexible schedule, you can take advantage of many terrific discounts.  If you travel to the city on Metro North, be sure to take advantage of seniors tickets, 50% off full one-way peak fare and can be purchased on board without paying a higher price.
I welcome suggestions for more economical day trips.  The summers are short in New England and we have to take advantage of the sunny days.
