Town of Bethel Seeks New Business for Former Bethel Cycle Space at Old Train Station

Businesses interested in leasing the old train station space that used to house Bethel Cycle Shop which recently closed may contact the town

Janice Chrzescijanek, Director of Economic Development, announced Wednesday that the Town of Bethel, through its Board of Selectmen, is now seeking proposals for a potential lessee of the old Bethel train station, located between Front Street and Depot Place.

Chrzescijanek said in a release, “The old train station serves as a key location within the Town of Bethel, with a large number of parking spaces and surrounded by a variety of retail/specialty shops, personal and professional service providers and restaurants. The station had been used as a train station from 1899 to 1996. In 2011, it was renovated to accommodate its most recent tenant, Bethel Cycle.”

The space is a single story structure that is 23 feet wide and 79 feet in length with approximately 1,894 square feet. There is also a handicap accessible bathroom that includes a shower. The property also has a paver patio and a covered outdoor area.

To be considered, prospective tenants must respond to the RFP on or before 4 p.m. on March 3, 2016 to: Procurement Committee, Town of Bethel, Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, 1 School Street, Bethel CT 06801.
