Voters Reject Town, Capital Budgets, But Pass School Budget

Turnout was around 25 percent.

BETHEL, CT --- Last night Bethel voters rejected the proposed town and capital budgets, but approved the new school board funding. The town’s portion -- $29.8 million -- was voted down, 1,400 votes in favor and 1,466 votes against. The $45.1 million school budget passed 1,505 to 1,351. The $2.3 million capital budget failed with 1,296 votes in favor and 1,560 against. according to unofficial results reported in the News-Times.
