“A celebration of the actress and comedian's birthday and career includes musical performances and appearances by some of Hollywood's biggest stars.” On Sunday, we celebrated my dad’s 89^th birthday. NBC wanted us to do a special but we said no.

Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, 9:30 p.m., NBC

“Betty White and a team of senior citizens pull hidden camera pranks on unsuspecting people.” And suddenly, it is 1960.

Alcatraz, 8 p.m., ABC

I have been waiting for this. It is JJ Abrams, one of my favorite show creators of all time (Alias, Lost). It is Jorge Garcia, or as I like to call him, HURLEY. And it is time travel, ghosts, mysterious conspiracies and secret agencies, a la X-Files (I hope). Fingers crossed.
