You know what they say – the people are always right.

Are You There, Chelsea?, 8:30 p.m., NBC

First, let me admit right up front that I do not like Chelsea Handler. I do not think she is funny or remotely appealing. That said, this sitcom is based on her bestselling memoir Are You There Vodka, It’s Me Chelsea. Bizarrely, she is in this show, but not as herself. Also, based on the lack of success of S&*% My Dad Says last year, I am not giving this long.

Modern Family, 9 p.m., ABC

Here’s hoping that the recent streak of brilliance continues with this: “Claire and Jay's competitive streaks lead them to take over their kids' school projects; Phil asks Haley and Gloria to help him with a presentation; Mitch and Cam meet with prospective birth mothers.”
