15-Year-Old Charged With Strong-Arm Robbery Of Woman, 82: Police
Last December, in a medical complex parking lot, an elderly woman was "forcibly" robbed of her purse, belongings, Woodbridge police said.
WOODBRIDGE, CT — A 15-year-old from New Haven was arrested by the Woodbridge Police Department in connection with a December 2020 "strong-arm" robbery of an 82-year-old woman, police said Tuesday.
Following a "lengthy" multi-jurisdictional investigation, Woodbridge detectives secured an arrest warrant for one of the people police allege was responsible for the robbery of the woman in a local medical complex parking lot.
During that incident, police said, suspects including the teen forcibly stole a purse and personal belongings from the woman.

Woodbridge police said that its detectives and others from nearby police departments found that the people responsible were also responsible for numerous robberies in the greater New Haven area during early December 2020.
The 15-year-old, who was already in Department of Corrections custody, was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, and driving without a license.

After processing, the teen was arraigned at New Haven Juvenile Court and turned back over to the Department of Corrections, police said.
