2 Kittens Abandoned In Sealed Cardboard Box In Bethany: PD

BETHANY, CT — Two kittens were recently abandoned in a cardboard box which was sealed shut with blue painter’s tape, according to police.

Woodbridge Regional Animal Control, which covers multiple towns including Bethany, posted on Facebook on Wednesday about the discovery of the kittens.

The kittens had been left near a garage on Dayton Road, according to police.

A resident found the kittens, who are estimated to be about two months old, and contacted animal control.

“Thankfully, these two little ones are safe and now in the care of Woodbridge Regional Animal Control,” the post states.

Officials are asking witnesses, or anyone with information about the kittens’ abandonment, to contact animal control at 203-389-5991.

Desmond’s Army Animal Law Advocates urged people to come forward.

“Abandoning helpless baby animals is cruelty,” the organization said, on its Facebook page. “Taping a box shut so they cannot escape is intentional. Someone knows who did this — and WRAC needs that tip. Share what you saw — even a small detail can help identify who is responsible.”
