2017 Teacher, Staff Member of the Year Named in Bethany School District
The two have each been with the Bethany School District for 18 years.

The following announcement is from the Bethany Public School District:
Bethany Public School District Superintendent, Colleen Murray is pleased to announce that the 2017 Teacher of the Year is second grade teacher, Maria LeVasseur. Mrs. LeVasseur was chosen by her peers as an exceptional teacher for her contributions both in and out of the classroom and for the positive impact that she has had on teaching and learning. Mrs. LeVasseur has been a teacher for 20 years, 18 of which have been at BCS. Mrs. LeVasseur will be honored by the Commissioner of Education at a ceremony in November.
Superintendent Murray also announced that the 2017 Staff Member of the Year is school secretary, Joanne Quarequio. Mrs. Quarequio has been a member of the staff for 18 years in different support positions. She has been the school secretary for the last 3 years. Mrs. Quarequio eagerly greets everyone that comes to the school with a smile and makes sure the school day runs smoothly and efficiently.
