28-Year-Old Bethany Woman Killed In Fiery Crash: Report

THOMASTON, CT — Cassandra Bigos, 28, of Bethany was killed when her car veered off of Route 8 by Exit 40 Saturday morning and her vehicle went down an embankment before it struck a tree and burst into flames, NBC Connecticut reports.

The accident occurred at 8 a.m. and the highway was shut down for several hours, WTNH News 8 reports. Fire crews were able to extricate Bigos and she was taken to a hospital where she would die as a result of her injuries, Fox 61 reports.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
