Since mid-February, Police have investigated 3 reports of stolen cars and 12 incidents in which residents have reported thefts from their vehicles. These thefts have all occurred in areas of town north of Route 114, all involved vehicles parked in private driveways and in each case, every vehicle had been left unlocked.
Neighboring communities are also experiencing similar type incidents and Police continue to investigate in collaboration with surrounding local law enforcement agencies. In addition to the common security tips that have been previously provided, Police continue to remind residents to report any suspicious activity immediately and emphasize the importance of owners locking their vehicles.
