Alexander J. Farley, 22, Involved in 3-car Woodbridge Crash, Passes Away

The accident occurred on Nov. 9 on Route 67.

The following obituary for Alexander J. Farley, 22, is from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home. Farley, of Waterbury, died from injuries suffered in a three-car crash on Route 67 in Woodbridge on Nov. 9:

Mr. Alexander J. Farley, 22, of Waterbury, passed away Thursday November 17, 2016 with his family at his bedside at Yale New Haven Hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was the beloved son of Jim and Joanne (Summa) Farley.

Alex was born in Waterbury on August 24, 1994, son of Jim and Joanne (Summa) Farley. He was a 2008 graduate of Blessed Sacrament Grammar School, Holy Cross High School, Class of 2012, where he was a member of the Swim Team, and was currently a student at Southern Connecticut State University where he was studying Public Health. In addition to carrying a full course load at Southern, he worked at Bunker Hill Pharmacy. Alex loved playing basketball, swimming, working out with his buddies, listening to music, gaming, going to concerts, ridiculously long showers, spending time hanging out with his friends and the New York Knicks.

Besides his parents of Waterbury, he leaves his brother Bryan Farley of Waterbury, his maternal grandparents William and RuthEllen Summa of Waterbury, his maternal great grandmother Helene Summa of West Palm Beach, Florida, his aunt Andrea Farley of Newtown, uncle Billy Farley of Newtown, uncle John Summa and his wife Suzanne of Waterbury, aunt Margaret O’Brien and her husband Bob of Waterbury, aunt Diane Banister and her husband Bruce of West Danville, VT, aunt MaryBeth DeCortin and her husband David of Watertown, a remarkable family friend Samantha Colonair, many cousin, a large extended family and a host of beloved friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Howard and Theresa (Babnick) Farley.

Funeral was held today, Nov. 21, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Waterbury, and burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown.
