Weather has wrecked havoc with the Amity and the other teams in the Connecticut Interscholastic Ski League racing season at Mt. Southington. On Wednesday, the Spartan boys finally got back onto the mountain for only the second time. They posted a team time of 3 minutes, 16.66 seconds, which was fast enough to knock off Hand (3:22.36) but not good enough to catch Staples (2:87.24) or Ridgefield (2:79.21). After dropping 2 of those 3 races, Amity now sits at 2-5.
Its top six boys racers were: Col German (48.62—34th out of 112 on the mountain that night), Joe Stein (51.51—55th), Ted Burt (52.23—60th), Colby Luisi—53.77—68th), Kevin O’Brien (55.14—77th) and Scott Grubman (55.39—78th).
According to Coach Bruce German, “We were much improved and raced better this time than we did in our first race. Cole didn’t get overly aggressive and as a result, was able to complete both of his runs.”
