Woodbridge schools were put in a heightened mode of security after multiple police departments began a search for a homicide suspect Friday.
New Haven Police told Woodbridge Police that a vehicle occupied by a person wanted in connection with a homicide investigation was last seen heading northbound on Amity Road into Woodbridge around 11:30 a.m.
Officers located the vehicle in the Amity Road delicatessen, according to police. It was occupied by a female, but the male suspect was nowhere in sight.

Woodbridge, New Haven, state, Seymour, and Orange police departments began searching for the suspect.
Schools in the area and the Jewish Community center were requested to shelter in place.

The suspect was located around 12:30 p.m. in a wooded area of Litchfield Turnpike near Bishop Drive. He was taken into custody and the schools resumed normal status.
