Amity Middle School Bethany Students Compete In Science Bowl
Congratulations to all of the students who competed.

From Amity Schools: Five students from Amity Middle School in Bethany and their coach, Jacob Feuerstein, a senior at Amity Regional High School, participated in the Connecticut Middle School Science Bowl on Saturday, February 23 rd at UConn. The Science Club at Amity Middle School in Bethany is advised by parent volunteer, Teri Schatz.
The Science Bowl, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, is a highly competitive nationwide academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. The 32 teams faced off in a fast paced question-and-answer format and were tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, energy, and math. After Amity Middle School in Bethany lost to Smith Middle School in the afternoon elimination round, the students participated in hands-on demonstrations with students from the UConn Chemistry Department.
