Are You Ready?

When severe weather happens will you be ready? Hurricane season is here. Are you prepared? Having a plan and being prepared is essential to keeping you and your loved ones safe during an emergency.  The Quinnipiack Valley Health District (QVHD)’s Medical Reserve Corps is sponsoring a Severe Weather Informational Session for the community.  WTNH’s meteorologist, Sam Kantrow, will be at QVHD with the mobile weather lab to speak with community members about severe weather threats, such as hurricanes and tornadoes.  Information and tips on how to prepare for an emergency will also be available.  This event will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at QVHD located at 1151 Hartford Turnpike, North Haven, CT 06473.  This is a “come as you please” event and community members are encouraged to stop by anytime between 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.  QVHD is the local public health department for Bethany, Hamden, North Haven and Woodbridge.  For more information, call Alicia Hanke at 203-248-4528.
