Bear Spotted in Woodbridge

The bear was spotted Tuesday in a resident's backyard.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A black bear was spotted in the backyard of a Rimmon Road residence Tuesday morning, police said.

Police warn residents that bear sightings are becoming more frequent.

Black bears are generally shy, secretive and are usually fearful of humans; however, if they continue to find food near houses, they lose their fear of humans and may regularly return to that area," police said on Facebook.
