On Saturday, January 25th the Eastern Connecticut Resource Conservation and Development Area, in partnership with The Last Green Valley (and other area and neighborhood organizations), will offer a one-day intensive course for individuals intent on becoming an advocate for their communities, developing agricultural commissions, or developing farm-friendly policies.
This 'boot camp' will provide individuals with tools to support farming and protect farm lands, to deal with common conflicts, as well as guidelines on policy, regulatory issues, and topics of farm viability. This course is only $20 and includes lunch!
This course is recommended for community volunteers, municipal and non-profit staff, county farm members, regional planning agencies and conservation districts, planners, etc!
Training will take place from 8:30am-4:30pm at Goodwin College, The River Campus, One Riverside Drive in East Hartford. See the attached registration form, or those with questions are asked to contact John Guszkowski, AGvocate Program Manager at 860-455-8251 or AGvocate@outlook.com.
