Bethany Board of Finance Meeting

A brief summary of the Bethany Board of Finance Meeting from Feb. 8, 2011

A brief summary of what was discussed at last night's meeting for those who want to know what's happening in town, but can't make it to the meetings:

  • Tax collection is currently comparable, percentage-wise, to most other years and is on track.
  • Snow Removal: at the end of January, snow removal expenses broke even, however, the town just received a new order of salt. Currently snow removal is $32,000 over budget, not including some labor costs that have not yet been added in.
  • The town audit is finished, however since the official copies had just arrived, the board opted to vote ti accept it at their next meeting in two weeks.
  • Bethany’s grand list is slightly up a total of .3 percent, which translates to $1.9 million on the grand list.
  • On the overall budget, the only line item that will show a deficit this year is snow removal.

The next Bethany Board of Finance Meeting will be Feb. 22.
