Bethany Man Attacked In Racetrack Hate Crime: Report

A Bethany man said he was targeted because he is gay at a racetrack in Thompson.

THOMPSON, CT — State police are investigating an alleged hate crime at a local racetrack, according to FOX 61. The attack occurred at the Thompson Speedway over the weekend.

Daniel Kaminski, a Bethany resident, said he was attacked because he is gay. The attack occurred after 11 p.m. Sunday when he was blindsided, hit in the back of the head, and knocked to the ground. The attacker then used a gay slur against him.
