Bethany Volunteer Fire Department will be holding an open house on Saturday April 9th from 10:00 to 2:00
On Saturday, April 9, 2016, the BVFD will be participating in the Everyday Hero CT volunteer firefighter recruitment campaign

The Bethany Volunteer Fire Department will be holding an open house on Saturday April 9th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Come celebrate Volunteer Firefighters Day, and meet some of Bethany’s Everyday Heroes. We will be one of over thirty five departments statewide participating in Connecticut’s Everyday Hero campaign and will be opening our doors in an effort to promote volunteerism.
This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to stop into the Fire Headquarters and meet the men and women who volunteer to protect our community. Come out and learn about our fire department, the services we provide, climb in a truck, or sit in an ambulance and take a tour.
We ask any residents who have thought about becoming a volunteer firefighter, EMT, Auxiliary member, or Fire Explorer to please come by and talk with our members. The Fire Explorer program is for kids between the ages of 14 and 18 who want to learn about the fire and EMS services. Members will be giving tours of the facility and equipment. They will also explain what it takes to become a member and share some of their experiences. Whatever capacity you choose to become involved in with the BVFD, it will most likely be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

We will be serving light snacks and beverages to all who visit. We ask all who have thought about membership or even those who just are curious about the Fire Department that has served this community for over eighty years through volunteerism to be our guest on April 9th. Please come out and join us!
