Bethany Zoning Board To Review Garage Replacement And Amity Road Setback Variance Requests
Bethany's Zoning Board of Appeals will consider scheduling hearings for garage and building setback variances on Oct. 13.
BETHANY, CT — The Bethany Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to consider two variance applications involving a residential garage replacement and a proposed building and canopy on Amity Road at its Tuesday, Oct. 13, meeting.
Both applications are scheduled to be received, with public hearings proposed for Nov. 9. The board is not scheduled to make final decisions on either variance at the October meeting.
Garage Replacement Proposed On North Humiston Drive
James Wagner is seeking a variance from Section 4.4 of Bethany's zoning regulations for property at 104 N. Humiston Drive.

The application proposes removing an existing detached garage located within the required setback and replacing it with an attached garage.
According to the amended agenda, the new garage would remain within the setback but would encroach less than the existing structure.

The board is scheduled to receive the application and set a public hearing for Nov. 9.
Variance Requested For Amity Road Property
Gondal Corp., identified as the contract purchaser of 779 Amity Road, is requesting a variance from Section 6.3D of the town's zoning regulations.
The application seeks permission for a building and canopy within the required front-yard setback.
The board is scheduled to receive the application and set a public hearing for Nov. 9.

The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 in the Commission Room at Bethany Town Hall, 40 Peck Road.
Residents may attend in person, participate through the Zoom meeting or watch the livestream on the Bethany Town Clerk's YouTube channel.
The board is also scheduled to consider approval of its Sept. 14 meeting minutes.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 9.
