Chicago and Tower of Power Tribute to Perform at Milford Performance Center
The music of two iconic bands comes together for one night

It’s hard to believe that nearly fifty years has passed since The Chicago Transit Authority first hit the stage and took the world by storm as America’s rock band with horns. The guitar driven, jazz infused ensemble would confound the critics and thrill audiences with extended solos, unforgettable melodies and lyrics that were influenced by the social and political times that challenged the nation.
On the heels of a long awaited induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a resurgence of interest for what was known as the raw, unleashed sound of Chicago early releases and the events that shaped them. Introduction The Chicago Experience has been thrilling audiences with the sound that harkens back to the early days of one of Rock and Roll’s most enduring collaborations, Chicago. “We focus on the period from 1968-1978. The golden years that were known for Terry Kath’s guitar licks and complex horn arrangements. Before they became ballad driven” Says Mike Pacheco, the band’s Lead vocalist. “It’s a period that resonates with audiences” says Pacheco
In 2018, Tower of Power will also celebrate 50 years of touring and recording some of music’s most powerful horn driven melodies. TOP Tribute On The Serious Side, is Connecticut's first and only Tower of Power Tribute band. Created by drummer Gene Zwicharowski and named after one of Tower of Powers most complicated and syncopated songs. “This was a project we only dreamed of doing! “ says Zwicharowski of his bandmates. “Our show is very focused on the "Live versions" of TOP songs, The crowd response is incredible and it sparks off high energy from the very first note” Zwicharowski said The two bands are teamed together for one evening at The Milford Performance Center on August 12th .
