Date Set for Amity Regional School District Bond Referendum

The district is seeking more than $2 million for school improvements.

BETHANY, CT — A bond referendum is scheduled for Dec. 6 in the Amity Regional School District (Bethany, Woodbridge and Orange) for a request for $2,065,000 to make improvements to Amity Regional High and Middle schools.

The district is seeking the funds for new air handlers at the high school; classroom and tennis court renovations; parking lot improvements, and other upgrades.

The referendum question reads as follows, according to the Town of Woodbridge website, “SHALL REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER 5 APPROPRIATION OF $2,065,000 AND AUTHORIZATION OF BONDS AND TEMPORARY NOTES IN THE SAME AMOUNT FOR VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS AT AMITY REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AND AMITY MIDDLE SCHOOL, BETHANY CAMPUS?”

Polling sites will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and registered voters from the district will be eligible to cast ballots.
