
BETHANY, CT — An accident that occurred between a tractor trailer truck and another vehicle early this morning on Amity Road near Pleasant Drive in Bethany is causing State Police to divert traffic away from the area.
The truck was reported to be leaking diesel fuel so the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and Hazmat were notified and are on the scene. There were no serious injuries to either driver.
The Regional Water Authority has dispatched a watershed inspector to determine if the spill is affecting the watershed. RWA will report its findings to DEEP who is in contact with First Selectman, Derrylyn Gorski's office to provide ongoing status reports.
