Donation Drive Announced for PPE Items Needed at Columbus House

PPE ITEMS NEEDED FOR COLUMBUS HOUSE

My name is Michael Coyne and I am a high school student, a Confirmation candidate and a lifetime parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption.

I am a volunteer for the Columbus House and we are doing a PPE donation drive. Father Ford has graciously allowed me to post this donation request. As many of you are aware, this is an incredible organization that has been helping people in Connecticut find permanent homes and employment for the past 36 years. Our church has been actively involved with this organization.

Many of the residents at the Columbus House are in desperate need of PPE items which include masks, vinyl gloves, hand sanitizers, cleaning products, and laundry detergent. I know these items are hard for everyone to find right now, but if you can give whatever you can spare it would be greatly appreciated by those most in need.

I have two ways donations can be made:

1. You may drop off donations at the rectory garage. The door will be open during the day and there will be a table set up with a large plastic container for contactless donations that can be made anytime up to Wednesday, July 1st.

2. Another option is that I was able to find an ample supply of some PPE at the Apex Pharmacy in Hamden. Apex allows you to make purchases over the telephone that I can pick up for you. If you call Apex at #203-281-6571 and when it answers DIAL ZERO, a live person will answer. I have listed the PPE items they have right now. You just need to tell them that Michael Coyne is picking up your purchases. I will be calling in daily to see if there is a pick up needed.

The following needed items at Apex are:
Face masks $24.99 each (for 25 masks)
Vinyl gloves $12.99 each (for 100 gloves)
Hand sanitizers $4.99 per bottle
