With more girls participating in sports such as basketball, soccer, lacrosse and volleyball than ever before, young female athletes are at greater risk of ACL injuries. Girls ages 10-19, parents, youth sports coaches, athletic trainers and physical therapists are encourage to attend this discussion about ACL injury prevention on Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. The evening is presented by Kareen Sutton, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon from Yale-New Haven Hospital, along with other health and fitness experts. Attendees should wear athletic clothing to participate in the screening and exercise demonstrations at the Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven, 360 Amity Road in Woodbridge.
