Director Woody Allen returns with this delightful ode to the city of Paris, a city that lends itself to daydreaming, walking the streets and imagining all sorts of magic. Midnight in Paris is about a screenwriter, Gil, who is in Paris with his materialistic fiancee and her unpleasant parents, taking a break from his financially rewarding but spiritually unfulfilling Hollywood career. During a midnight stroll, he is drawn into the jazzy world of Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Picasso and Dali, and an intense Ernest Hemingway. Each morning Gil wakes up in the real world, but at night he returns to the Paris of his dreams.
