Feud Escalates in Woodbridge over Expanded JCC Pool Hours

Currently, the pool closes at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays during the summer.

WOODBRIDGE, CT - Neighbors of the Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven on Amity Road in Woodbridge are squaring off against the center in a fight over expanded pool hours at the facility.

The JCC wants to extend the hours beyond the current 4:30 p.m. weekday closing time, and it has applied to the Planning and Zoning Commission for approval to do so. But a vocal group of area residents vehemently oppose the proposal because they fear it could cause a significant disruption to their neighborhood, reports the New Haven Register.

JCC officials want to open the pool on weekends during the summer, and even advertised about it before obtaining the special permit, according to Woodbridge officials.
