Former Bethany Employee Accused Of Sexually Abusing Minors Pleads Guilty

Sentencing is scheduled for this summer.

BETHANY, CT — A former town parks and recreation employee charged with sexually assaulting minors has pleaded guilty.

Anthony Mastrangelo, who was arrested in 2024, entered a guilty plea to five counts of risk of injury to a child and fourth-degree sexual assault, according to the state Judicial Branch website.

Mastrangelo is scheduled to be sentenced in Superior Court in New Haven on Aug. 11.

Mastrangelo was arrested following claims he abused minors enrolled in Bethany’s parks and recreation programs while he was an intern and counselor.

Mastrangelo’s employment with the town ended in June 2023.
