Group Of Women Assault Victim, Steal Her Purse: Woodbridge PD

The victim was walking when a car full of five women pulled up and three people got out and assaulted the victim, police say.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A Woodbridge resident was assaulted by a group of females on Tuesday, police said. At 8:20 a.m. Tuesday a Woodbridge resident walking on Litchfield Turnpike near Raymond Road and was approached by five females who were traveling in a motor vehicle southbound on Litchfield Turnpike, police said.

Three of the females in the vehicle exited the car, assaulted the Woodbridge resident, and stole her purse and personal items, police said. The three females then re-entered the vehicle and fled the area. The victim then contacted the Woodbridge Police Department and provided a description of the offenders and the get- away vehicle along with its displayed registration plate, police said.

Officers in the area located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop, and took all five females into custody without incident, police said. Subsequently, the victim’s property was recovered both in the vehicle and in the surrounding area, police said.

The five arrestees are identified as follows: Satin Tyson, 34, of Hubbell Ave. Ansonia, CT, Jasmine Lewis, 18, of Wall St. Waterbury, CT, Lacorya Smith, 27, of Fifth St. Ansonia, CT, Savannah Cole, 21, of Beaver St. Ansonia, CT, and Joselyn Estrella Lopez, 19, of 19 Hubbell Ave. Ansonia, CT.

All five were charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Conspiracy To Commit Assault 3rd Degree, and Conspiracy To Commit Robbery 2nd Degree.

Cole was able to post her $20,000 bond and was released with a court date of June 28, 2018 in New Haven Superior Court for her arraignment. Lewis, Lopez, and Smith were all released by the Bail Commissioner on their promise to appear in New Haven Superior Court on June 28, 2018 for their arraignments. Satin Tyson was unable to post her $10,000 bond and was transported to New Haven Superior Court on June 20, 2018 for her arraignment.
