Guilford Lions Gathering - 11/18 at Dunkin' Donuts Meeting Room-2:30pm

We serve, #Kindness matters, Making a difference in my community, Work-life balance and we can serve, too! Serving together to help others!

District 23A CT(New Haven & Fairfield Counties) of Lions Clubs International is working to rebuild the Guilford Lions so that we can bring service programs back to the residents of Guilford, like free KidSight eye screenings in pre-schools, private and public schools through Lions Club International KidSight USA Program-link here: https://www.lionskidsightusa.org/, Plus service that encompasses our 8 global causes (flyer below). In our District 32A (New Haven and Fairfield Counties), we support organizations such as: JDRF, various Youth Camps for children with medical needs, veterans, mental health/drug addiction program relationships, vision and low vision, food insecurities, adult diabetes and vision screening, childhood cancer, the environment and much more). The Guilford Lions have been in Guilford since 1950 (73 years) and were known for their Peach Shortcake Festival to benefit eye research. For car lovers, they held an antique car show. They also donated to the Guilford Senior Citizens Group, Fidelco (seeing eye dogs), American Cancer, Guilford Food Bank, VNA of Guilford, youth camps and many other organizations. Each June, they assemble to raise the flag on the Guilford Green in remembrance of Flag Day.

We want to bring back our service initiatives to Guilford and your ideas on what you think your needs are for your community - We Serve. The sky's the limit in developing new service initiatives! Clubs are eligible to apply for grants and matching grants to provide large scale service to your community as well, from accessible playgrounds, community gardens, etc., and LCI provides free liability insurance for club service and fundraising activities. This is through Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF). https://www.lionsclubs.org/en/discover-our-foundation/mission?utm_campaign=rkd_fy24_paidsearch_google&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAr8eqBhD3ARIsAIe-buMHPvoYBTHYGlkSclkcYydGvbu7EoxLyDmjAiDE4MupgV5Cv8_h2akaAm0iEALw_wcB
