Have You Seen This Man? State Police Say He Robbed a Bank in Bethany

State police say the suspect fled and was headed toward Naugatuck.

State Police are asking the public for assistance in solving a bank robbery that occurred Saturday morning.

On Saturday at about 11:25 a.m., Troop I-Bethany responded to a report of a bank robbery, at the Webster Bank located at 696 Amity Road in Bethany, that had just occurred.

Troopers arrived on scene and initiated a criminal investigation. The initial investigation revealed surveillance footage and other investigative information. Witnesses were also able to provide specific details regarding this robbery.

State Police say the suspect, a white male in his 20’s or early 30’s wearing a black Carhart hat, demanded money from a bank teller. The male suspect was described as approximately 5’10”, 220 lbs with reddish blonde hair, visible tattoos on his hands, and appeared to be missing a portion of his left index finger.

The bank teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the male suspect left the bank. The male suspect fled on foot to a waiting vehicle, believed to be a gray or silver Nissan Cube. The vehicle left the area heading north on Amity Road towards Naugatuck. No weapons were displayed and no injuries were reported.

State Police Central District Major Crime Detectives responded to process the scene and conduct this criminal investigation.
