Obituary: Barbara Zdanoski, 88, Of Naugatuck

"She had a zest for life and made a lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with."

NAUGATUCK, CT - Barbara E. (Hatt) (Lahey) Zdanoski, age 88 , beloved widow of John A. Zdanoski, passed away at Masonicare of Wallingford surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Biddeford, Maine on January 17, 1929, daughter of the late Chester and Rachael (Goldstone) Hatt. A longtime Naugatuck resident, she had retired from Meriden Dress Company. Barbara enjoyed spending her summers in Maine with her family, and loved flowers, gardening, dancing and her grandchildren. She had a zest for life and made a lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with.

Barbara leaves her children, David Lahey of Westbrook, Maine, and loving daughter Lynnea Taylor and Joseph of Meriden; her six grandchildren, Hilda, Alicia, Richard, David, Alyssa, and Ariana; her four great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Peter Lahey and her five siblings; Chester Hatt, Pauline Hatt, Dorothy Lowell, Althea Coffin, and Patrcia Lusier.

Her funeral will be held on Monday October 9, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main Street, Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
