Obituary: ​David Maher Berchem, 68, of Woodbridge

David Maher Berchem, 68, of Woodbridge, beloved husband of 42 years to Karen Berchem, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2017. Born on December 13, 1948, in Milford, he was the son of the late Barbara Maher Berchem and Robert W. Berchem.

Dave grew up in Milford and resided in Woodbridge for over 40 years. He loved spending time with his family. He was an avid gardener and took pride in his house and his yard. Dave was a familiar face along the three mile route that he walked daily.

In addition to his beloved wife, Karen, he is survived by his devoted daughter, Sara Berchem Kelley and her husband Raymond John Kelley; his cherished granddaughters, Brooke and Elisabeth Kelley; treasured brother, Robert Berchem (Lee); dear niece and nephews, Kerry, Robert Jr. and Jonathan Berchem; and several great nieces and great nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT. (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH) Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery, Pease Rd., Woodbridge, CT. Friends and family may call on Friday, June 30, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St. Milford, CT.
