Opening Day for Pease Place playground- May 30

Opening Day for all-accessible playground Pease Place in Woodbridge

Join State and Town officials, the Woodbridge Community Playground (WCP) committee and its sponsors for the Opening Day ceremony of Pease Place playground on Saturday, May 30 at 10:30 am. Pease Place playground is located at the Pease Road Woodbridge Athletic Fields, 160 Pease Road, Woodbridge.

For close to eight years, Teri Schatz and Colleen Inclima have been working diligently to bring their dream of an all-accessible playground to the town of Woodbridge. Pease Place is the first playground in Woodbridge to accommodate children with physical, sensory, or developmental disabilities. The playground features age appropriate play structures, inclusive swings, accessible pathways, a basketball court, and activity panels enabling children of all abilities to play together. It accommodates children ages toddler to teen.

“We are extremely grateful to Senator Joe Crisco and First Selectman Ellen Scalettar who were instrumental in supporting the playground and securing state funding to help our dream become reality,” says Teri Schatz, co-founder of Woodbridge Community Playground.
