Orange Teen Seriously Injured in Woodbridge Crash

The teen was found unresponsive in the driver's seat.

A 19-year-old teenager from Orange suffered serious injuries in a car crash in Woodbridge Saturday morning.

Police found the car on fire just before 4 a.m. at the intersection of Baldwin Road and Greenway Road.

The driver, Justin Proto, was found unresponsive, police said. With the help of a neighbor who was awakened by the crash, police were able to remove Proto from the vehicle and take him to a field where he received medical assistance. He was then taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle had be traveling south on Baldwin Road when it went off the road and struck a tree at the Greenway Road intersection, police said. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
