Our Lady Statue Dedicated at Our Lady of the Assumption
The statue was donated by the Ladies Guild in memory of the late Monsignor Gene Gianelli, affectionally known as "Fr. Gene."

WOODBRIDGE - The dedication of the Statue of Our Lady was held on July 29, 2021 at Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church on Center Road. The statue was donated by the Ladies Guild in memory of the late Monsignor Gene Gianelli, affectionally known as "Fr. Gene."

The Guild wishes to thank Paula Idarola for her tireless efforts in obtaining the statue of Our Lady, Julie Luciani and Connecticut Stone for coordinating and donating the engraved granite base, Thomas J. Capasso of Capasso Landscaping, LLC for excavating, pouring the footings, setting the base, erecting and securing Our Lady in place, Elaine Ballerini and Mary Ellen Faronithe 2020 Co-Presidents for spearheading this Guild project, and Father Christopher Ford for his spiritual and practical guidance throughout the process.
The Guild also wishes to thank everyone who helped make the dedication and reception delightful: John DeSarbo for the crown of flowers and Liz DeSarbo for the additional help, Apicella's Bakery for donating the stuffed breads, the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council 5467 for setting up the tent, Kathy Boufford for chairing the reception committee of: Elaine Ballerini, Anne Boucher, Johanna Burland, Mary Ellen Faroni, Nancy Kelly, Joan Murphy, Linda Reilly, Debbie Siena and Nora Slanski.
