ID Of Victim Killed In Hit-And-Run Accident Released: UPDATE

BETHANY/NAUGATUCK, CT —A pedestrian was the victim of a hit-and-run accident Sunday morning, State Police said. The victim has been identified as Tony Pires Goncalves, 25, of Commodore Commons in Derby.

At 7:33 a.m. Sunday, Troopers from Troop I-Bethany responded to Route 63, in the area of the Bethany/Naugatuck town line for the reports of a struck pedestrian. Based on evidence on scene, investigators believe the evading vehicle to be a green colored Jeep Grand Cherokee, year 1997-2001, with damage to the front right end, State Police said.
