The man, who was intoxicated, got into a physical altercation and was charged with violating a court's protective order, police said.

An intoxicated 26-year-old man was arrested after getting into a physical altercation during a family dispute on Park Lane, Woodbridge police said.

Police said they were called to the scene at about 10:11 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, and determined that Craig Linton of Sherman Parkway in New Haven had violated conditions in a court-issued protective order.

Linton was charged with disorderly conduct (a misdemeanor) and violating a protective order (in this case, a felony), then detained overnight after he didn’t meet the $5,000 bond. He appeared the next day in state Superior Court in New Haven.
