Pooper Scooper Bags, New Commission Appointment, Bidding Waiver

Bethany Board of Selectmen Meeting Feb. 13

A synopsis of what happened at last night's Bethany Board of Selectmen's Meeting.

  • Ronald Doba was appointed by the board to the Conservation Commission.
  •  pet care offered to provide free animal waste removal bags for dog walkers at and the dog park on Pole Hill Road. Best Friends had one request that they be allowed to put their name on the dispensers at the parks. The board voted to approve of  the dispensers with the stipulation that they reserve the right to have them removed.
  • The board voted to waive the bidding process to contract with O'Neil Accounting and Consulting Service. The company was recommended by the board of finance who deemed their prices very reasonable and their experience compatable with small town finances.
  • First Selectman Derrylyn Gorski said the town has received the revenue numbers from the governor's budget and the proposed revenue to Bethany is up by $11,000 this year, as opposed to an anticipated small decline.
