Sen. Slossberg Announces Funds For Beecher Road School
The funds will be used to repair the roof of the school.

WOODBRIDGE – State Senator Gayle Slossberg (D-Milford) announced today that the school building projects bill approved today on a unanimous and bipartisan basis in the state Senate includes funding to repair the roof at the Beecher Road School.
House Bill 7102 authorizes state grants for various school building projects, including $3,717,917 for alterations to and replacement of a portion of the roof at the Beecher Road School. The grant will cover 27.86% of the school’s total estimated $13.345 million renovation cost, which includes the North roof replacement, HVAC work, windows, walls, lighting, an entry canopy, a pool cover and dehumidification, security upgrades and more.
“The state has an obligation to build and upgrade our public schools for the education of our children and the betterment of our communities, and with that obligation comes the responsibility to pay for that work,” said Sen. Slossberg, who is Senate Chair of the Education Committee. “My vote today stands with the children and the parents of Woodbridge, with their desire for a safe and modern educational environment, and with upholding of our responsibility as lawmakers to pay for the commitments that we make.”
