On October 6 the Garden Club of Woodbridge hosted Shizue Pleasanton, who demonstrated the “Art of Sogetsu Ikebana.” Sogetsu Ikebana is a free-form school of Japanese flower arrangement founded in 1927 in Japan. Shizue is an artist and holds the Eighth Level Degree International Sogetsu, Riji-the highest level of certification in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. Four exquisite arrangements were produced by Shizue, and members were given the opportunity of owning an arrangement through a raffle.
